He has done GREAT things!

This is Braylon throwing his hands up in the air praising the Lord, for he has done GREAT things ( A bigger smile would have been fitting, but hey you get the idea.) A couple of months ago Braylon went to an ENT doctor. He was referred by our doctor because he had large tonsils. The tonsils were obstructing his breathing at night and causing him to snore so loud we could hear him throughout the house. When we went to the ENT we found out that Bray had hearing loss due to fluid build up from his very large tonsils and adnoids. The doctor strongly recommended we have surgery to remove his adnoids and tonsils as well as put tubes in his ears. We decided to wait a little and so we set up an appointment 6 weeks later. We prayed throughout those 6 weeks that the Lord would change the report and that we would not have to have surgery. During those 6 weeks Mike and I noticed Bray was getting quiter as he slept. Last Friday when we went back to the doctor, the report was much different. They completed another hearing test and said his hearing had improved by alot and said that it looked like things were getting better on their own. We were SOOO thankful and humbled by God's provision. Not only did this first and foremost spare Bray surgery at a young age but it also saved us lots, I mean lots, of money. Our insurance has such a high deductible that we would have had to essentially pay for the whole doctor bill. Throughout this whole process Psalm 20:7 kept coming to mind, " Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."
I wanted to write this story down to share with you the work of God in our lives, but moreover as a reminder to myself. As a mom, I often get worried and fearful for Bray and Will's health, safety, education, comfort ect... God is continually, gentling nudging and reminding me to place all of these concerns into His hands and TRUST him. He says over and over, "they are MY boys, I love them with a love that is soo much wider and deeper and stronger than your love. I am their shepherd and I laid done my life for them, so you can TRUST me." A breath of fresh air sweeps over me and as I exhale my body quivers. I am on the verge of tears. What a great God!
