Oh the joy of having a new baby! I am in love all over again! Silas Esher Peterson came in to the world on February 7th at 2am in the morning. We named him Silas after the New Testament follower of Jesus. Silas was bold in his faith and praised the Lord even in the midst of hardship. In one instance he and Paul sang hymns of praise while sitting in prison and additionally witnessed to their jailer. We choose Esher in the hospital. It means blessed. Silas had to be induced because the doctor told us they had concerns about his weight and stomach size. While waiting to be induced and feeling concerned about this tiny baby the words of Psalm 112 were a great comfort to me " Blessed (Esher in Hebrew) is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in His commands. His children will be mighty in the land.....he will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure he will have no fear." Thankfully, Silas was born much bigger than the doctors predicted ( 6lbs 3oz). God is faithful and we are so blessed.
