New school year, new adventures
So we are embarking upon a new adventure this school year...homeschool. Ummm, well 50 percent homeschool. Bray and Will are attending a new school where we homeschool half the week and they attend school for 2 or 3 days a week. Jonah and Silas will be attending the same neighborhood preschool Jonah attended last year. Lots of factors contributed to this decision.
Some being:
1.) we have always really liked the idea
2.) this summer was so great having more face time with all the boys; more face time with us and more face time with each other
3.) As an educator I like being able to get creatively involved in teaching them.
4.) We wanted more flexibility in our schedule
5.) We really want to try it!
Really it is just Bray we are 50% homeschooling; I figure it is good to start off slow. I often tend to bite off more than I can chew. Will gets all he needs in the three days that he attends kindergarten each week. However Braylon gets yours truly as reading teacher and Mike as a math teacher. The rest of the subjects the new school covers. We have already started to delve into some homeschooling and so far it has been mostly fun :) It is a really special one on one time with Braylon and watching him grow in his reading skills is incredibly cool.
I am sure I will have lots of funny stories to share regarding this adventure. Let the adventure begin!
