Home Alone!

Well not quite alone. Mike and Bray went down to Mason City for the day, so Mike could relive his glory days in the annual Alumni Classic Basketball Tournament. Will and I stayed home. We had so much fun. I think he learned about 5 new words, which leads me to beleive he would be much further along developmentally if my attention was not always split between him and his sweet brother. Oh well, we will have to do our best!

Shown to the left is the outfit he choose to wear for our day home alone together. He is so huggable!

Tribute to my mom....

I have been wanting to write a post about this for some time. But have yet to do so. My mom is AMAZING! She comes to our house at least once a week to watch the boys while I go to work at Hope. When she comes over, she usually accomplishes more housework than I do in a whole week, no joke. Most weeks at least 2 of the following are accomplished when I come home from work: dishes clean, 2-3 loads of laundry, floors washed, groceries purchased, the boys' clothes reorganized, carpets vacuumed, windows washed, rooms decorated and more! I feel a little bit embarrassed ( how does she do it? is she a mary poppins of sorts?) but mostly I feel so THANKFUL. She extravangantly serves our family and ALSO seems to genuinely enjoy doing it. We are blessed.

The best christmas pageant EVER

Don't you just love that book? I sure did. Bray's preschool put on a little ditty for the holiday season. Seriously, is there anything cuter than little kids earnestly singing songs? Perhaps them doing the little actions that accompany the songs? Mike and I sat in the first row and watched our little bundle of holiday cheer sing his heart out. Braylon had an excessive amount of holiday energy (note the picture above where no one else is in motion and he is jumping off the step). I tried to shoot him as many " stand still" mommy glances as possible, but those really did nothing to control his wiggly body.
The sweet baby in the picture is Ariah. She is Daracha's little girl. We got to watch her for the day.... Bray was very tender with her. She was only 4 1/2 pounds at birth and is just a little peanut!

We are having a wonderful December and are looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior this weekend with family and friends.

Preparing for the arrival of baby Jesus!

With Christmas fast around the corner we have been really trying to talk to Braylon about this holiday season. I have really emphasized that Christmas is baby Jesus' birthday and that we do things to celebrate HIM. Yesterday Braylon took a tuberware bowl and began collecting things around the house for baby Jesus' birthday. So far in the bowl we have crayons and play dough. He really wants to put christmas lights in there, because he thinks baby Jesus would really like them. But we haven't figured out a way to do that yet.
While thinking about what baby Jesus might like for his birthday Bray said " Is baby Jesus coming to our house for his birthday?" I said, " he is always at our house, we just can't see him." Bray's response, " Oh.... if he comes he can sleep in Will's pack n play if he likes." I love this time of year!!! We are putting up our tree tonight, more pictures to follow!
